What Amateur Radio is all about: -

Amateur Radio is a unique, fascinating and friendly hobby
that captivates the interest of millions of people around the world. It encompasses a huge range of activities, from people communicating with someone down the street, or across the other side of the world, to people building their own equipment or tinkering with old radios right up to those talking to the International Space Station using the latest digital technology. The hobby has something to attract most people.

Radio Club meeting details: -

Meeting initially is in the new bar at the far end of the club. The clubroom and radio room are located in the cellar. The meeting are held on Tuesday's at 8.00pm approx. Membership is open to all interested individuals who may apply for membership by obtaining an application form from the Treasurer David Dawkes G0ICJ, or by filling in the membership form, and submitting it to myself, of by printing the membership form off and forwarding it to the address below.

Membership details: -

Our current membership charges are charged per-annum, at a fee of £10.00, with half rate for students and OAPs. The membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August, and new members joining after 1 March are charged 1/2 price. It is a condition of the membership that applicants must also be a member of the Wythall Community Association and he/she maintains a regular paid up membership.

 

Advice is available regarding becoming a licensed Radio Amateur, and help is also available.
The club holds social nights as well as technical talks, discussions and radio biased film/video/DVD shows.

The two main events in the year are the Rally held on 2nd Sunday in March each year and entry into the VHF National Field Day (NFD)
